Plot summary
Shelly has won the annual Buddy Games six times, most recently beating Bender in the latest edition of the contest. A drunken celebration afterward leaves the six lifelong friends split apart. Five years on, Shelly is divorced and living with his mother, who asks their wealthy friend Bob to bring the games back and give her son a purpose. Bob organizes a new round of absurd physical and mental challenges with a cash prize. Shelly agrees to take part on two conditions: Bender is not invited, and the medical condition he keeps hidden stays secret. Bob invites the others and leaves Bender off the list.
