Plot summary
Gunn owns a well-liked Los Angeles nightclub and sees financial independence as the way to equality. His brother Scott, a Vietnam veteran, is the mastermind behind the nighttime raid on the mafia's illegal bookmaking operation, which the militant Black Action Group carries out and which leaves several bookmakers and one of the burglars dead. Scott arrives at Gunn's mansion and hides there. Russ Capelli, a mafia capo, reports the stolen daily payoff records and cash to Toni Lombardo, the organization's West Coast boss. Capelli has just received a promotion, yet he dreads the loss of face and what the records could expose. He sends his men, led by the assassin Ray Kriley, to lean on anyone connected to the robbery and to recover the goods.
