Plot summary
Malcolm Turner, an FBI agent, is glad his stepson Trent Pierce got into Duke University. Trent, who raps as Prodi-G, would rather have Malcolm put his signature on a record deal, and Malcolm says no. Trent's friends push him to surprise Malcolm at work. Malcolm is after Chirkoff, a Russian gang member, and he uses an informant, Canetti, to pass a flash drive to the gang. Canetti says the drive holds nothing and that a copy sits with a friend at an arts school for girls in Georgia. Canetti's cover breaks and he is killed, which Trent sees. Malcolm pulls Trent out, but Trent's car is still at the scene, so the gang can trace them. They hide: Malcolm becomes Big Momma, a house mother at the school, and Trent becomes her great-niece Charmaine, a student there.
