Plot summary
Thirty years ago, James Murphy traveled to Loch Ness in Scotland, where the creature known as Nessie attacked him and killed his father, leaving James with a deep scar on his face. His search for the animal now leads him to Ashburn, a town on Lake Superior. There he meets Josh Riley, who owns a bait shop, and hires him as a guide. Josh's mother, Karen Riley, is the town's sheriff, and his ex-girlfriend Zoe is about to camp on Pike Island with Brody and two others. James tries to convince Karen that a giant plesiosaur is at large in the lake.
