Plot summary
Chester works on oil pipelines and comes back from the North Pole to his home in a Los Angeles suburb. He brings a metal container holding a small frozen sample of a mysterious substance that a bulldozer turned up at a job site. Chester does not know that the sample is a piece of the Blob from the 1957 incident in Pennsylvania. He puts the container in his freezer until he can take it to a laboratory. His wife Marianne takes it out and forgets about it, so the sample thaws and comes back to life.
