Trailer

Plot summary

The military's Project Visitor has been tracking a flying saucer and expects it to land in the Central United States. At the base near the expected target, Lt. Robertson scolds his men for pointing the monitoring equipment at teenagers in the woods instead of the sky. One of the local teens spots an object come down and spreads the word at a bar, where Stan Kenyon hears it. Stan and his girlfriend Susan Rogers are out driving when they strike one of the lumpy, multi-eyed creatures from the ship. They drive off to call the police, and stop in the woods to use a grumpy old man's phone. He resents the couples who treat his property as a lovers' lane. When Stan tells his story, the police refuse to believe him.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.

  • Larry Buchanan began shooting The Eye Creatures the morning after John Ashley's wife, Deborah Walley, said goodbye to him. Buchanan recalled that Ashley was in bad shape, asked to fly out to her, and that Buchanan told him "John, we just started!"
  • The Eye Creatures was shot in 16 mm in Dallas on a budget of $40,000, with some sources saying less than $25,000, and star John Ashley said his own salary took up more than half of it.
