Plot summary

During a battle with Dr. Animo at a power plant, the Omnitrix switches on its self-destruct mode. Ben Tennyson senses that something has gone wrong with the device, but he keeps the problem to himself. Tetrax arrives and informs him that the Omnitrix is now sending out a self-destruct signal, one that will destroy the device and the universe along with it. The only hope is to reach the person who built the Omnitrix, because that maker alone can repair it. Ben and Tetrax set out on the search. Gwen, Ben's cousin, stows away on the journey so she can help him.

Ben 10: Alien Swarm was planned as the first in a trilogy, and actor Ryan Kelley said in 2021 that he was asked to return for two more sequels. They were never made after Cartoon Network cut back on live-action programming following the 2010 cancellation of its CN Real block.
On June 14, 2011, producer Joel Silver announced a live-action Ben 10 theatrical film with Warner Bros. and Dark Castle Entertainment. It was officially canceled on September 16, 2024, after years of development hell, and the theatrical rights had expired.
