Plot summary
In Jersey City, teenager Kamala Khan is an Inhuman who can shapeshift and leads a secret life as the heroine Ms. Marvel. She idolizes Captain Marvel, while her mother thinks her interest in superheroes is a waste of time, and she is still learning the ropes as a rookie. With Doreen Green, her best friend and the superhero Squirrel Girl, she stops a thief in the park, a young man named Dante Pertuz who can command fire. Victor Kohl, who is also tracking Dante, tells them he works to keep Inhumans safe from the harm their abilities can cause. Victor and Dante both flee before the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Quake and Patriot arrive, and Kamala and Doreen set out to find the pair themselves and show the world that Inhumans are heroes rather than threats.
