Plot summary
Paul Blart, a security guard at a mall in West Orange, New Jersey, has weathered misfortunes: his wife Amy divorced him six days into their marriage, and his mother was killed by a milk truck. Four years on, a letter invites him to a security convention in Las Vegas, and he believes his luck is changing. His daughter Maya has been accepted at UCLA and hides the news from him. At the Wynn hotel, Paul is drawn to Divina Martinez, the general manager, and learns she is dating Eduardo Furtillo, the head of security, while Maya falls for Lane, the valet. Another guard, Donna Ericone, knows of Paul's earlier rescue at the West Orange Pavilion Mall, though Nick Panero is set to give the keynote. Vincent Sofel and accomplices dressed as hotel employees intend to replace priceless artworks with replicas.
