Plot summary
Elina, of the Fairytopia films, tells her puffball Bibble about Flutterfield, an island that lies on Fairytopia's edge, where the fairies have butterfly wings. Nocturnal Skeezites eat those fairies, and only Queen Marabella's light keeps them away. Mariposa, who does not feel she fits in Flutterfield, works with her friend Willa for the sisters Rayna and Rayla. At a royal ball, Mariposa stays outside with a book and meets a fairy named Andreas. The next morning he tells her the queen has been poisoned with Illios and will die in two days, which would put the lights out and leave Flutterfield open to the Skeezites. He gives Mariposa a map to the antidote, and she, Rayna and Rayla set out to follow it.
