Plot summary
Hopalong Cassidy, California Carlson and Lin Bradley ride out from the Bar 20 ranch, bound for the Stevens spread to buy cattle. On the road they come upon Mrs. Stevens, her daughter Marie and a ranch hand named Mark Jackson, whose stagecoach has just been held up by the Quirt Rankin gang. The outlaws made off with Marie's jewels, and a ransom is demanded before they will be handed back. Richard Adams, Marie's sweetheart, means to raise the sum himself. The money Hoppy and his friends were carrying for the cattle was taken in the same robbery. The three of them set out after the gang.
