Plot summary
In the early 1990s, Jack shares a house with his mother, Karen, who begins a relationship with Tom, a man with a son named Mark about Jack's age. The two boys meet and grow inseparable. A girl named Sarah joins them after she stands up for them when a group of thugs attacks them, and the three spend their days together. Tom shows the kids his gun collection and lets them try the weapons in an open field. When Karen asks Tom and Mark to move in, Jack and Mark start sharing a room. A police investigation frames the account, with those around the two questioned about their friendship.
