Plot summary
In Imperial Russia, Anna Karenina is married to Karenin, a much older Czarist official. She travels to Moscow to visit her brother Stiva and hopes to steer him away from his adulterous lifestyle. There she encounters Count Vronsky, a dashing cavalry officer, and feels an instant pull toward him. In St. Petersburg's high society, such a connection could ruin a woman's standing.
