Angels Sing (2013) on Netflix

Plot summary

Michael Walker grew up loving Christmas, but an accident on the ice when he was a boy left him with no feeling for the holiday. He is a history professor now, with a wife, Susan, and a ten-year-old son, David, and he refuses to join his parents for Christmas. When the house his family rents is sold, Michael takes a spill on his mountain bike and meets Nick, the owner of a house for sale, who offers it to him at half its worth on the condition that he accept at once and keep it up to the neighborhood's standards. Carolers and decorations greet the family, and Michael stows them in the attic rather than put them up. Nick gives him a gift and tells him that happy memories are the ones that matter.
