Lyle Lovett
Biography
Lyle Lovett is an American singer-songwriter and actor who came up in the early 1980s Texas folk acoustic scene. Born in Houston and raised in Klein, Texas, he performed at Kerrville Folk Festival in 1980 and 1982 and signed with MCA Records in 1986 for his self-titled debut album. He has recorded 14 albums and 25 singles, among them Cowboy Man, a number 10 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and has won four Grammy Awards. As an actor, he appeared in several Robert Altman films, including The Player (1992) and Cookie's Fortune (1999), and in The New Guy (2002), Bastard Out of Carolina (1996), and Angels Sing (2013). He also made guest appearances on Mad About You and Castle and had a recurring role on The Bridge.
