Plot summary
Veteran publicist Lee Phillips is fired, and studio head Dave Kingman then calls him back to a private look at Time Over Time, the new Gwen Harrison and Eddie Thomas picture. The two are a beloved screen couple, married on screen and off, until Gwen takes up with her co-star Hector and Eddie retreats to a wellness center. Kingman has nothing to show: the director, Hal Weidmann, will not release the film, and wants it unveiled at the coming press junket. With the studio short of hits, Kingman asks Lee to persuade reporters that Gwen and Eddie have reunited, and promises his job back. Gwen's sister and assistant, Kiki, urges her to attend. Lee brings in rookie publicist Danny and bribes the retreat's guru with a luxury car to get Eddie to face her.
