Plot summary
In the small town of Liman, West Virginia, Mike Howell spends his days getting high and working at a convenience store. He wants to propose to his girlfriend Phoebe Larson on a vacation to Hawaii, but panic attacks stop him whenever he tries to leave town. In Langley, CIA agent Victoria Lasseter, who ran the Wiseman program, learns that her rival Adrian Yates has ordered Mike, its last survivor, eliminated by his own Toughguy agents. She goes to Liman and activates Mike with code words whose meaning escapes him. When two operatives come after him, training he never knew he had takes over.
