Plot summary
The Syndicate, a hidden alien force, wants Earth for itself, and Rykker, an intergalactic warrior stranded on the planet, fights it. Saylon, one of the group's top leaders, crash-lands on Earth with orders to build a wormhole portal linking the planet to his home world, opening the way for a full-scale invasion. Isis, who runs the Syndicate on Earth, carries out robberies to gather the parts the portal needs. When a truck loaded with those materials is hijacked, fifteen-year-old Julie loses her family in the attack. Left alone, she wants revenge on the killers. She attaches herself to Rykker, who tries to leave her behind. Isis and her killers chase the pair across the country.
