Plot summary
Alice is in a psychologically abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Simon. For a rare evening, Simon lets her go to a bar with her two closest friends, Tess and Sophie. Her friends see that she is distracted and flinches whenever her phone pings. Sophie suggests a trip north to her parents' house to celebrate Tess's birthday, and Alice agrees. She tells Simon it is work in Minneapolis. On the drive, the three stop at a store, and Alice sees a missing-person flyer for a girl named Andrea; the case takes hold of her.
