Plot summary
Cassie and Lisa became friends in first grade, but as adults their lives have drifted apart. Cassie plans parties, Lisa is an archaeologist. During her 25th birthday week, Cassie persuades Lisa to go out, and they meet Max, a new neighbor. At a club they argue, and Lisa leaves. Cassie goes home, passes out, wakes hungover, trips in the bathroom and hits her head. She meets Val, an angel handler, and learns that a year has passed. Cassie must help three people, Lisa, her father Howie and her mother Sofia, in five days.
