Plot summary
Norman Young is a young deputy sheriff in a quiet Missouri town in 1983, and his older brother is Ray Young. A gun goes off by accident at Ray's hands and a person is killed, and Norman covers the death up instead of reporting what his brother did. Frances Campbell's elder sister, Abbey Campbell, is Ray's girlfriend, and their father is Tom Campbell. Ed Quinn is the sheriff. An investigation into the killing follows, and the family of the person who died is drawn into the case as the inquiry wears on, while the bond between the two brothers is tested.
