Biography

Peter Michael Goetz is an American actor who was born in Buffalo, New York, and studied at several universities before joining the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. He spent four decades appearing there in productions such as Death of a Salesman, All My Sons, and A Moon for the Misbegotten. His Broadway debut came in 1981 as John Barrymore in Ned and Jack, a Colleen Dewhurst-directed play that closed on opening night. He also acted in New York in Beyond Therapy, Brighton Beach Memoirs, and The Government Inspector. His film work includes Wolfen (1981), The World According to Garp (1982), Jumpin' Jack Flash (1986), King Kong Lives (1986), Dad (1989), Glory (1989), Father of the Bride (1991), and My Girl (1991). On television he appeared in AfterMASH, Lou Grant, St. Elsewhere, The Golden Girls, L.A. Law, Twin Peaks, The Practice, The West Wing, Gilmore Girls, and Arrested Development.
