Plot summary
Dylan Branson works air traffic control at John F. Kennedy International Airport and can picture patterns and constellations. He holds a pilot's license but is afraid to fly, and he keeps dreaming of a shooting at Grand Central Terminal at 2:22 p.m. During a shift something takes hold of him at 2:22 p.m.; he comes out of it just in time to keep two planes from colliding, and is suspended pending a board review. The same sounds and events repeat daily, ending at 2:22 p.m. At an aerial ballet he meets Sarah, who was aboard one of the planes.
