  • SPOILERMankind was declared to have quit the WWF Championship "I Quit" match against The Rock, but the "I quit" audio was actually a recording from a promo Mankind had made on Heat during the buildup, so he never really quit.
  • Chyna became the first woman ever to compete in the Royal Rumble match at the 1999 event, and she remained the only woman to do so until Beth Phoenix in 2010, followed by Kharma in 2012 and Nia Jax in 2019.
  • The theme song of the 1999 Royal Rumble, built on the tagline "No Chance in Hell", went on to become the entrance music for Mr. McMahon's stable The Corporation and later for McMahon himself, who used it until his resignation in January 2024.
  • SPOILERThe night after the Rumble, Mr. McMahon gave The Rock the $100,000 bounty for helping eliminate Steve Austin and gave up his own WrestleMania title shot, the first time a Royal Rumble winner had ever done so, so The Rock would not have to defend against him.
