Monty Sopp
Biography
Monty Sopp, known in the ring as Billy Gunn, is an American professional wrestler who made his name in tag team competition. Born in Orlando, he learned his craft from Jerry Gray and spent years on the independent circuit before joining the WWF in 1993. With Bart Gunn as the Smoking Gunns he captured the tag team title three times, then paired with Road Dogg to form the New Age Outlaws and later joined D-Generation X. In 1999 he took the King of the Ring crown, and he also held the Intercontinental and Hardcore championships. He later teamed with Chuck Palumbo as Billy and Chuck. He has wrestled for WWE, TNA, and All Elite Wrestling, where he has appeared as Daddy Ass and won the AEW World Trios Championship alongside The Acclaimed. In 2019 he entered the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of D-Generation X.
