Plot summary
The Woodstock '99 festival takes place in New York in the summer of 1999, sold as a revival of the togetherness and counterculture ideals of the 1969 concert. Over three days the event is marked by intense heat and steep prices, and the accounts gathered here describe violence, sexual assault, looting and vandalism. Promoters, crew members, performers and members of the audience recall what they saw at the site. The documentary also considers the wider culture of the late 1990s in the United States, including the nostalgia that many young people of the time held for the mid to late 1970s.
