Plot summary
Kurt Cobain was born in 1967 in Aberdeen, Washington, to Donald, a car mechanic, and Wendy, a waitress. His parents divorced when he was nine, and his teenage years brought marijuana and spells with no home of his own. In 1987 he started a rock band called Nirvana with bassist Krist Novoselic, playing house parties and then clubs, and the group signed to Sub Pop for its first album, Bleach. Dave Grohl later took over the drums, and Nevermind, carried by the hit "Smells Like Teen Spirit", made the band a mainstream act. Cobain met Courtney Love, and they married in 1992 after she became pregnant with their daughter, Frances Bean.
