Plot summary
Mechanic Jed Love picks up a quiet drifter whose car has failed outside Hayesville, Nevada, and drives him to Willy's Wonderland, an abandoned family entertainment center. Its owner, Tex Macadoo, offers him one night of janitorial work in exchange for the repairs, then leaves him locked inside. Teenager Liv Hawthorne tries to set the building on fire, but her guardian, Sheriff Eloise Lund, handcuffs her; her friends free her afterward. The Janitor's first task is interrupted when the animatronic mascots in the halls prove to be alive and violent. Liv comes in through a vent to pull him out, and her friends pour gasoline around the building.

- Willy's Wonderland was originally called Wally's Wonderland, a title changed during production because of legal issues. The original animatronic characters Douglas Dog, Pauly Penguin, Beary Bear, Pirate Pete and Regina Rabbit were replaced by Arty Alligator, Tito Turtle, Gus Gorilla, Knighty Knight and Cammy Chameleon.
- Special effects on the film were done by production designer Molly Coffee, whose expertise in design, fabrication and puppetry helped create the visual movement and appearance of the eight animatronic characters.
- The fictional Willy's Wonderland family entertainment center was shot in a desolated bowling alley in the Sprayberry Crossing shopping center in East Cobb, Marietta. The crew set up a large basecamp with housing because of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
