Plot summary
The wasteland is full of Flesh Eaters, people turned by a street drug called Natas. Hunter drives a beat-up Camaro with a trunk of guns and booze, running down zombies for sport and redemption while fleeing his past. He stops at a deserted filling station for gas and fights off an ambush in the convenience store. He drives into the turf of survivors who have avoided the drug. One of them shoots at him, taking him for a zombie, and he wakes among them. Fast Lane Debbie flirts with him; Alison brings him a can of cola and the two women quarrel. Father Jesús leads the colony, a pastor-like zombie slayer. Over a shared meal the survivors take Hunter in, and he and Alison grow close.
