Plot summary
Masked gunmen interrupt a drug deal and shoot everyone involved, including a man who says he is a DEA agent working a sting. Two young women flee the scene and get away. Detective Travis Johansen's boss, Hernandez, tells him that DEA agents died during the bust and that the two missing witnesses have turned up shoplifting in Mexico. Travis meets his friends Hilts, Brynner and Tinelli at a nightclub and talks over the case. The next day he meets a police officer holding two women in handcuffs, Rosa Barranco and Leticia, the witnesses to the shooting, and takes them for the drive to San Diego.
