Plot summary
At the secret Universal Bio Tech research facility, scientists enhance horned vipers with a poison called C12 so their venom can treat disease. The snakes escape, and on the island of Eden Cove in the Pacific Northwest they attack the residents. Teenager Maggie Martin breaks into a store to smoke marijuana, and its owner, Nicky Swift, is jailed for growing it; Sheriff Tom Hendricks calls Doc Jim Silverton about the break-in. A viper bites a child named Jake, and Cal Taylor, new to the island, injects antivenom.
