Plot summary

Lou is a newly recruited paramedic working her first shift in a city gripped by riots. Eager to prove herself, she rides with Jason, a seasoned paramedic, while her father Patrick, a retired police officer, encourages her efforts and her superior Rick questions what she can handle. A masked killer who wears a face like Michelangelo's David begins targeting a select group of people. The victims are found in grotesque states, marked with cryptic Latin phrases written in blood. Lou's command of Latin brings her into the investigation with Detective Stan Russo, and she translates the Latin messages the killer leaves behind.
