Plot summary
After her aunt Clarisse dies, Pauline takes her teenage daughters, Beth and Vera, to the isolated house she has inherited. Beth reads about a series of home invasions in which parents are murdered and daughters are spared, and a candy truck has been trailing the family. Two intruders break into the house that night, a large man and a woman. Sixteen years later, Beth has become a horror novelist with a husband and a young son, and she has written a book about that night. A frantic call from Vera brings her back to the house, where Pauline says Vera has never recovered and now shuts herself in a padded room. Vera is convinced the intruders are still hunting for them.

- While filming a scene for Ghostland in December 2016, actress Taylor Hickson was facially disfigured and needed 70 stitches in hospital; the injury left her permanently scarred. In March 2018 she sued the film's production company, Incident Productions, over lost work.
- Taylor Hickson claimed in her lawsuit that the director, Pascal Laugier, consistently told her to pound harder on the glass with her fists while shooting the scene that disfigured her.
- The Winnipeg-based company Incident Productions pleaded guilty to failing to ensure the safety and welfare of a worker under the Workplace Safety and Health Act, and the province of Manitoba fined it $40,000.
