Plot summary

At Evanston Hill High School, Mr. Lorenzo watches students climb onto a bus for a field trip. Ever, who has low self-esteem, sits with her best friend Tamra. Randall, Steven, Danny, Hunt, Jacey and Ryan are aboard as well. Blood splashes across the windshield, and the driver, Wayne, crashes in a forest. A radio bulletin announces a chemical attack in the area. A metalhead who looks like a mutated zombie gets on the bus and mauls Mr. Lorenzo. In the confusion, Ever, Tamra, Randall, Steven, Danny, Hunt and Jacey run into the woods and hide in an abandoned building, where Ryan later joins them. Candice and other classmates are still on the bus, and Ever wants to help them.
