Plot summary
Vampires and werewolves, called Lycans, have fought a secret war for generations. Selene is a Death Dealer, one of the vampires' assassins. She keeps up the hunt for Lycans even though the other vampires no longer see them as a threat. The vampires gained the upper hand years ago, when the Lycan leader Lucian was believed to have died at the hands of the vampire Kraven, who afterward became second-in-command to the elders. Selene finds that the Lycans are after Michael Corvin, an ordinary doctor, and looks into him on her own.
