Plot summary
Geronimo's curse on white men turns its victims into the walking dead, and the affliction is spreading across the country. Luke, a cowboy in a small town, plans to propose to a saloon girl; at the saloon he finds her working as a prostitute and picks a fight with Elmer Winslow, a Union Army deserter who has just arrived. The saloon's owner, Sheriff Claypool, jails both men, takes the 500 dollars Elmer was carrying, and locks them beside Ben Goodman, who is due to hang in the morning. The two escape and rob the sheriff before leaving town. On the road they meet Sue, Geronimo's niece, sent to New York for an education and now back to avenge her uncle, killed by soldiers.
