Plot summary
Purgatory is a desert town whose vampire residents, under the ancient Jozek Mardulak, wear sunscreen and try to get by without hunting humans. Keeping them fed depends on an artificial blood factory that has stopped working, so Mardulak sends for David Harrison, the human who designed it. Harrison brings his wife Sarah and their two young daughters, believing the trip is a vacation. Not everyone in town wants peace: Ethan Jefferson misses the hunt and organizes a revolution against Mardulak. Into that standoff comes Robert Van Helsing, a young descendant of the Van Helsing line, set on destroying every vampire.
