Biography

Lou Hirsch is an American actor, born in Brooklyn, who built much of his career in the United Kingdom playing American characters on stage and screen. He trained at the University of Miami and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and later studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, before moving to London in 1979. He joined the Cambridge Theatre Company, and the following year appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company in a tour of Anna Christie. His television debut came in 1982 in We'll Meet Again. His film work includes The Lonely Lady (1983), Insignificance (1985) and Thunderbirds (2004). He is best known for voicing Baby Herman in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), a role he reprised in the shorts Tummy Trouble (1989) and Roller Coaster Rabbit (1990). On television he appeared in My Hero, Kappatoo, Space Precinct, The Tomorrow People and Episodes.
