Plot summary
Kate lives on the fringes of society in Ramsgate, a town on the English coast, and she works at a benefits office there. She sleepwalks through her quiet days until a sexual encounter with a stranger wakes her. The man, known to her as Blond, is charismatic, and she cannot explain the pull she feels toward him, a person who stays mysterious to her. Infatuation takes hold of her, and she hopes that he will be the escape she has wanted for so long. The journey she begins with him is emotionally dangerous, and it slowly starts to consume her.
