Plot summary
A failed audition sends Miles Pope, a struggling actor, onto a flight home, where he meets a producer named Leland Carver. When the plane hits trouble and the passengers brace for a crash, Carver admits to the mafia connections in his past. The plane lands safely, and Miles is the only person who heard him. With the mob after him, Miles turns to his friend Duane, a makeup artist, who changes his face until he passes as a white man. That disguise is the first of several identities Miles takes on as he tries to stay ahead of the men hunting him.
