Plot summary
Grimm has had enough of New York City and wants out of the country, but he does not have the means. He dresses as a clown, straps fake dynamite around his waist and robs a midtown Manhattan bank, getting one million dollars and creating a hostage situation. His girlfriend Phyllis Potter and his best friend Loomis are in on the plan. The robbery goes smoothly. The escape does not. With the signs for the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway removed during construction work, the three get lost in an unfamiliar Brooklyn neighborhood, where a thug takes everything they have except the money taped under their clothes. Chief Rotzinger of the New York City police is on their trail.
