Plot summary
Joseph and Sidney are estranged siblings who meet at a restaurant with seven million dollars in cash taken in a robbery that went wrong. Joseph has arranged for the two of them to stay out of sight at a distant farmhouse, where a closet is said to carry whoever steps inside into a different timeline, provided the notebook's rules are kept. With police closing in, they find the closet and follow what the notebook sets out. They step out into another timeline and find a church and a flour mill nearby that are locked. The notebook tells them to remain there for fourteen days before going back through the closet. Sidney waits reluctantly, wanting to get home to her young daughter, Steph.
