The Black Demon (2023) on Netflix

Plot summary

Paul Sturges works as an inspector for Nixon Oil and is sent to El Diamante, a rig off Baja California, to judge whether it should be revived or shut down. He brings his wife Ines and their children Audrey and Tommy with him for a vacation. The town they reach is in ruins, and the remaining residents turn unfriendly once they learn where Paul works. Paul takes a boat to the platform and finds it dilapidated and surrounded by an oil spill, with only two workers left, Chato and Junior, and their chihuahua Toro. The locals have been stalking the family, so Ines and the children follow in another boat, and as it nears the rig a megalodon moves toward it.
