Justin Benson
Biography
Justin Benson is an American filmmaker who, with Aaron Moorhead, forms a writing and directing duo known for science fiction and horror. Born in San Diego, he began by making shorts and commercials before the pair's first feature, Resolution (2012), appeared at the Tribeca Film Festival. Their follow-up, Spring (2014), premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and drew praise from Richard Linklater and Guillermo del Toro. The Endless (2017) also screened in competition at Tribeca. During the pandemic, the two made Something in the Dirt (2022), which they shot in Benson's apartment and in which they both acted. Through their company Rustic Films, founded in 2017, they produced or executive produced films such as After Midnight (2019) and Things Will Be Different (2024). On television, they directed episodes of Moon Knight (2022) and later served as lead directors on Loki and Daredevil: Born Again.
