Plot summary
A director is shooting a film about a man who comes to stay at an apartment shared by Sophia, Larry and Kate. Sophia and Larry are engaged, and Kate is their friend. Over one night and the day that follows, the guest has sex with each of the three, and the talk among them turns to God, life and filmmaking. Shooting explicit scenes strains his ties with the actors he has cast, and he questions whether he can carry out his artistic vision. He appears in the film as well, and he and several of the actors play versions of themselves.
