Plot summary
Mr. and Mrs. Twit hate everything, especially each other, and their only joy is Twitlandia, the amusement park they run in the town of Triperot. It is shut down for numerous violations on its grand opening day. Vowing revenge, they steal a truck of liquid hot dog meat, fill the town water tower with it, and cause an explosion that floods Triperot. Two orphans, twelve-year-old Beesha and her friend Bubsy, are left without the family Bubsy was about to join, because his prospective parents fear he has been contaminated. Beesha works out who caused the flood and takes Bubsy to Twitlandia, where the Twits greet them and admit what they did. In the park the children meet the Muggle-Wumps, a family of colorful creatures from Loompaland that the Twits keep locked in a double-decker bus.

- Jellyfish Pictures, the London visual effects and animation studio with facilities in Toronto and Mumbai, provided the animation for The Twits, the company's final film, as it shut down seven months before the film was released.
- Roald Dahl reportedly wrote The Twits, the 1980 children's book the film adapts, because he hated beards, a detail relayed by critic Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com in his review of the adaptation.
