Plot summary
William Chaminade, a veterinary surgeon whose practice is failing, is spending a holiday in a port on the Mediterranean when a young woman jumps from the upstairs window of his hotel in an attempt to kill herself. Lionel, a passing athlete, saves her, and Chaminade gives her emergency first aid. The woman explains that her distress comes from a husband who has lost interest in her, and that she would rather die than sink into adultery. Moved by her distress, the two men decide to open a firm that assists neglected wives, providing them with a certified stud recognized by Social Security.
