Plot summary
Clumsy, Hefty and Panicky are stuck in the forest at night, their cart's wheel broken. Clumsy proposes telling a scary tale, and Narrator Smurf spins one. Papa Smurf announces the Smurfberry Harvest contest: a medal for whoever gathers the most smurfberries. Brainy Smurf has taken it nine years in a row, so Gutsy Smurf follows him to learn where the berries come from. The path goes into Smurfy Hollow and its hidden patch, the territory of the Headless Horseman. Gutsy scares Brainy off with a shadow of that rider and takes the berries for himself. Brainy then blunders into a trap laid by Gargamel, and when he fails to return, Gutsy and Smurfette set out after him.
