Plot summary
Patty Sullivan endures abuse from her boyfriend. She decides to take boxing lessons so she can protect herself when he becomes violent. She practices at a health club, where June, a boxer, and Fred, who arranges fights at local clubs, notice her. The two of them believe she could compete as a professional, and they take her to Tommy, who runs a local gym and trains fighters. Tommy puts her through a demanding training program for a first professional match. Through June, Patty gains a friend and a reason to leave her boyfriend.
