Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The Meyerowitz Stories was the second Netflix film competing at Cannes, along with Okja, and the pair caused a clash with jury president Pedro Almodóvar, who argued that Cannes Film Festival films should be made for big screens, not online streaming.
- After the Netflix row, Cannes announced in 2017 that a competing film must commit to being distributed in French movie theaters, and a French law bars streaming services from showing a film for 36 months after its theatrical release, effectively blocking Netflix films from future festivals.
- The film's Bard College scenes were not shot at Bard at all: they were actually filmed at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York.
